BFing in the middle of the night & sleep ?

So when I can I prefer to BF Landon whenever I'm home including during the night. When he wakes in the middle of the night he always falls asleep on the first side. I burp him and slowly drift off to sleep myself waking up sometimes an hour later to put him back in his crib. He's up usually 3 hours later wanting more but if we feed him a 6 oz bottle he'll usually sleep the rest of the night. What gives???

Ladies with a 5-6 mon old how many times are you getting up a night??

I was still up probably 3-4 times a night at that age.  Ben's not exactly what I would call a "good sleeper"- unfortunately for me!

Are you giving him a bottle of BM or formula?  If you are doing formula in the bottle, he's probably sleeping better because formula just stays in their system better.  BM goes through them quicker.  If you are giving a bottle of BM, I would guess he's not actually taking that much when he's BFing  as compared to the bottle (he's probably getting sleepy and dozing off after just a few ounces). 

When Joseph was 6-ish months he would be up once around 2-3 am for a feeding.  We did bottle of BM because at 4 months Joseph self-weaned from the breast.  He was up for the day between 6 and 7 am and would get fed again then.

You've heard this from me before... Hagan has never slept more than 4 hours. Ever! He nurses every 2-3 hours day and night.

I was still up probably 1-2 times a night with DD at that age.  She didn't sleep through the night until about 6 months.

Karsyn will usually sleep from about 9:30 until about 5am. Lately she has added a 2-3 am feeding as well. I am hoping that this will go away soon! I need more sleep.

Madison doesn't wake up during the night anymore to eat. she didn't when I was BFing either, so for her it didn't matter if it was BM or formula
