stella got hers in the nicu. they dosed her with tylenol before & after & she did just fine. at the time she was super tiny & fragile (like 5 pounds or something) & did great. just a little sleepy for a few days. her 4 month vaccinations are next week in fact! plan on maybe nursing her in the office after the shots to comfort her. i have heard this helps.
I didn't give Tylenol before (didn't even have any in the house) and DS screamed for 6 hours straight that afternoon. I did give Tylenol before 4 month shots (same ones) and had no problems. Coincidence? Probably! But Tylenol is so benign - I would give one dose before and a second 4-6 hours later.

Nope! She cried for just a minute..I nursed her right after. That afternoon/evening she was sleepy and just a tad fussy. Nothing too bad! Good luck, hope she does ok!

Ditto-I am doing an alternative vaccine schedule though, he only got his DTAP and Rotavirus, don't know if that made a difference or not.
Yes, we gave it afterwards. We were told not to give her anything before the shots. And I nursed her after the shots and she was fine in a minute or two. She did spike a little fever later that evening.
