here it is...

I hate Halloween.  I hate dealing with the costumes and dressing up my kids.  We live in Massachuetts where it is usually cold on Halloween, so you have to alter any costume by putting layers of clothes under it.  Emelia says to me ,"but Mommy Tinkerbell doesn't where a turtleneck"  She does in Massachuetts!

I hate dealing with the costumes that never fit right.  I hate trick or treating.

I know, I sound like a downer...but it is true.

I love it!

I never once went ToTing as a kid until I had my DD. I love it and even take the day off when its on a weekday.

I hate all the super scary decorations and costumes that are on prime display at all the stores.  My DS is terrified of the super scary skeletons and witches and monsters.  I feel so bad for him.  Even the childrens pumpkin patch in our area had an awful scary cackling witch this year!  We have tried to avoid the stuff as much as possible, but its on wide-open display everywhere - WalMart, Michaels, Lowes.   Frustrating.

Aw, XBG, why didn't you get to go TOTing?  Was it a religious thing?  My SIL just carved a pumpkin for the first time this year bc her folks thought it was "the devil's holiday" (

nope, my mom just really sucked with that stuff. She'd be out searching for a turkey ON thanksgiving. Unfortunetly she didn't celebrate many holidays.

xbr...My mom was the opposite.  She was/is a major perfectionist and I think that is what turned me off so much to Halloween.  I love hoildays but my mom has always made them very stressful.  She did it with me and does it with my children.  So I feel so much pressure for them to look "perfect".  I end up just not wanted to deal with it all.

I hate Halloween too! I refuse to buy candy because nobody ever comes to our house anyways and I will end up eating it. DS #1 hates and refuses to wear his costume and hates candy and IMO DS #2 is too young to TOT so we won't be participating in any of the festivities! I just don't care!

I love it in theory, but in practice, I think it sucks.  I send DH out with the kids and hang out at my friend's house while they TOT.

Hate it.  Not creative, can never come up with good costumes.  Feels like a lot of pressure to me.
