I had to pull an install job from someone because he couldn't afford to keep his phone service on. He had done a measure for window treatments that I then had to have someone else install.
Well, the window treatments ended up being too long so they had to be fixed for $80 + an extra trip charge for the new installer.
My boss is now making me go back to this poor guy to make him pay out of pocket for his mistake. Normally, we would have deducted this from his install on this part of the job, but like I said he didn't install it.
I know professionally he should have to be responsible for his mistake, but ethically I just feel horrible going to someone who I KNOW doesn't have the extra money to shell out.
