and it didn't turn out so well. The toothpick came out clean but it was still gooey and puddingish. We used white flour, and wont be making it again. Super dense, wierd after taste even adding the powder sugar on top.

Darn - pumpkin chocolate cake sounds good. FWIW, those pumpkin cupcakes I posted about the other night from Real Simple were delish....you could make but leave out the cream cheese frosting?  Or does cake mix have dairy?  I am clueless....

That little bit of dairy dd is ok with. Its me actually having milk or ice cream that makes everyone want to cry.

You could also try these chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. We used chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chips (as they don't have choolate chips in Sweden). Even better. And it is an Emerils recipe which doesn't require strange ingredients.
