My husband never goes out so that's not why I'm irritated but he text me from a free (paid by work) happy hour that is a goodbye to the CTO who is leaving and screwing over the company.

It started at 5 and DH said he'd be home by 6, well its 8. He text me at 645, "I hate schmoozing"...

Believe me, I'm NOT the one to complain about having to go out and be with adults.

Yeah, that is frustrating.  I feel the same way sometimes when DH travels for work (which is usually 2-3 nights a week).  I get that he'd rather be home, but I can't help thinking how nice it would be to get a full nights sleep and not have to share a bed with a 3 yr old and not be responsible for anyone else but yourself in the morning.

Well, if he hated it so much, he'd have been home at 6 and not texting me to tell me how torturous it was, right? Am I far off? And then come home (just now) tell me that he ate SUPER AWESOME food - going into detail - and had signature cocktails paired with the food....

Yea, I ate Pizza Hut and regretted it the moment I swallowed but am too cheap to throw things away...thanks.

DH used to call/text from concerts and such. Oh this is boring, I would rather be home.
