Yeast infection with CDers?

My DS got a yeast infection in the folds of his skin where his leg meets pelvic area and where the diaper lays on his skin.

Does this make sense?

Anyway - I had to get a cream to use for 14 days and it cleared up. I stripped my diapers, just to be on the safe side, and used sposies during this cream time. I went back to CD after this and it seemed like his infection was going to come back (he had some white in one leg)..so I stopped using the CDers.

I need advice on what to do...is it the diaper? (I use BG OS) I really don't want to switch to sposies full-time.

Help!

Re: Yeast infection with CDers?

  • DS had a yeast infection once after a nasty tummy bug set his body out of whack. We started adding BioKleen OxyBleach Plus with GSE to our wash routine, as well as a few drops of TTO in the vinegar rinse, and we haven't had a relapse. I believe that sunning your diapers would also help keep yeast at bay.

  • When DS had a yeast rash we used about 50 drops of GSE in the diaper wash.

  • You have to disinfect the diapers with Clorox.  Use it in the wash cycle with no detergent.
