i'm always seeing awesome things to sew for little girls, but I just don't see anything inspiring that i want to make for DS. Anyone have any ideas??? Since I can't buy him much for Christmas, I want to make a few special things...

Re: sewing for DS ideas
Well, I'm making my youngest a doll. But he's in love with baby dolls right now.
There's a super cute stacking ring pattern by Heather Bailey, it's not the easiest to make, but fun and both my boys LOVE theirs.
I've crocheted my oldest lots of creatures like aliens, spaceships, rockets, all from inexpensive patterns on Etsy. (And I found crochet super easy to pick up).
YOu could make him a busy book, you know, with a zipper, buttons, shoelaces, etc.
Or buy some printable fabric, and print pictures onto fabric and make him a soft book with pics of the family, his favorite things, or any pictures. That fabric is washable too, so easy to care for when it gets dirty.
Also, a playmat for cars. You can find roadway panels on places like equilter.com, and just add batting a backing, and you've got a super cute playmat (my boys are running cars on theirs right now).
I also have made them Christmas pj's, fleece pants, blankets (that they carry everywhere!), pillows, felt food (that's a HUGE hit), and other various stuffed creatures.
Let me know if you need Etsy links
My Three Sons
#1: 2.06 #2: 1.08 #3: 9.10
DS #3 diagnosed at birth with panhypopituitarism - lack of pituitary function. He is treated with thyroxine, hydrocortisone, growth hormone and testosterone.
Past things I have done:
sew pants out of print fabric (or solid color and put a print back pocket) and matching t-shirt with/ applique of print fabric
Cloth toys- I generally avoid them bc they take for.ever but there are some really cute cloth stacking rings, etc.
This year I am making him a Waldorf doll (about 20$ in materials for a 120$ doll- Joys Waldorf Dolls is going out of business and everything is 30% off, so run by a kit before they run out!)
Also I will sew him doll clothes, diapers, and a doll blanket.
I have knit him hats and mittens. There are great patterns for hats and mittens out of fleece if you don't knit.
I have sewn him a hooded towel that was a frog (made the pattern up by looking at online pic of PBK, etc, hooded towels).
ideas i'm considering....
puppet theater (to hang in doorway from tension rod)
card table (or dining table) playhouse
cloth bags for storing toys
