Is Disney open on Thanksgiving?

I'm about ready to ditch the family Thanksgiving. My family is really getting on my nerves and I don't feel like spending my time cooking for them and my money buying food for them. I'm done with their crap.

When I lived in Europe and was single I used to go on a trip over the Thanksgiving holiday. I went to London, Scotland, Egypt, Rome. Never really missed the turkey.

We can't swing an out-of-country trip right now, but we could go to Disney. And I'm thinking it might not be that crowded. (Is Disney ever not crowded?)

Re: Is Disney open on Thanksgiving?

  • I'm pretty sure they are open 365 days a year.  I was there on Christmas day a few years ago and it was super busy.  I don't know about thanksgiving though.
  • My boss is going that week ... I'm almost positive on turkey day but maybe someone else can give better confirmation.

  • It is definitely open that day...one of the busiest days of the year there! Be ready for long lines;(
  • It is open and will be a madhouse.

Well, darn. Is everyone fed up with their families or something?

  • I wonder if Sea World would be just as busy? That place was so much fun.

  • All of the attractions are very busy the entire Thanksgiving weekend.
  • They are busy, but not crazy bad.  We go the day after Thanksgiving every year.  It's crowded until Sunday, then the entire week after is pretty pleasant. As long as you stay out of the Magic Kingdome while they tape the Christmas parade, that is.
  • I worked at disneyland for 6 years. It is an effing ZOO. Families come, with 20 people wearing matching tshirts.

  • I have to say there is nothing I hate more than the huge groups in matching shirts.

LOL.  I'm thinking this still may be better than my family scarfing down turkey.
