as we speak!  they're in their final wash.  and let me just profess my love for boiling water prepping...boiled with a bit of dawn for 20 minutes, washed to remove remaining bubbles (took one hot wash), dried, and now we are washing with charlie's.  so much easier than 4 or 5 hot washes (although it doesn't seem like flats would need that many...not sure though).

I don't know what flats you're using, but in my experience... flats take longer to prep than prefolds!  My Imse Vimse flats took SO LONG to be fully prepped.  I thought they were good after 5 or so hot washes, then for about a week Seth would, when having a particularly heavy pee I guess, pee right onto the floor because the diaper didn't absorb fast enough.  Eventually they were fully prepped and I love them now!  The Little Lions flats I have prepped more quickly, with 4 hot washes, I think-- same as my unbleached GMD prefolds.

these are LL flats.

i prepped the last batch of LL prefolds with the same method so hopefully this does it--i will definitely do a test fold and a test "pee" to make sure before i practice on DD!
