We had DD's pictures taken at Walmart tonight

This afternoon, we had pictures for our church's directory.  You could purchase pictures after, but they were extremely expensive.  ($50 for 2 sheets of wallets).  Their cheapest package was something like $500.  They had some super cute pictures of DD, so we were tempted, but decided to go home and talk about it first.

I told DH that I'd rather taker her to Walmart and get some pictures.  If nothing else, we could get the $8 package and call it a day.  So, we did.  We walked in and had them done.  I ordered the package plus several extra sheets.  I spent $46 and will probably have more pictures than we'll ever need.

I know having studio pictures is not cool around here, but I was pretty happy with the results.

  • Yes, it is.  That is the picture I ordered for the package.

I'll be in that group too ;)?

    ?

?I think your sig pic is adorable, btw :)?

  • sounds smart to me!  We need to go get our kids' pics done.  I would never pay $500 for a package of pictures!  $46 sounds a heck of a lot better!
  • cute pic!! I don't think it's "bad" to have studio pics!
  • These are my other favorites.

Adorable smile!  My only personal problem with "studio pictures" is that DD doesn't cooperate for other people very well sometimes.  We always seem to get stuck with a photographer that isn't exactly "inspiring" to her too.  That's why my camera was my best investment ever.  If I didn't take my own, I would definitely try Walmart out though.  You are lucky your DD cooperates well with them!
    ditto!

And FFG-- those pics are GREAT!!

  • We just had pic at Penneys and spent 30 something.

My parents paid big money for a "real" photographer to do a photo shoot, and DS was in a horrible cranky mood that day.  We got exactly one so-so pic of him and the rest, he was throwing fits.  I would much rather go to Penneys now, and if it is a disaster, we can come back in a week and try again!

ETA:  The photographer is great- we have used him before.  The problem was 100% DS.

This is how I feel about picture people. If I don't like the pictures, I come back another day. We do spend quite a bit there, but we have been going every 3 months or so since Ethan was a baby, and the manager knows us, knows how much we spend, and gives us free stuff all the time.
