Pregnant after a Loss

thanks so much for your encouraging words :)

You girls don't know it, but it really helped to read all of your comments after my appt didn't go quite as I planned today. I spent most of my day in tears at the frustration I felt. I didn't really mention this earlier, but I was told to go to work yet stay off of my feet and lighten my work load. Any of you teachers know that it's just not possible to do that. I have 24 8-year-olds that demand my constant attention, staying off of my feet is not an option. I spoke with my principal about it today when I got to work and she basically told me that we were so short-staffed she couldn't even get someone in to help me. I am considering getting a parent volunteer to come in a couple of hours a week to help out with things for now. It just boggles my mind that I'm given instructions to do one thing, but not given a note for it so I can actually do it??? It makes no sense to me :( I go back on Monday and meet with a different doctor so maybe I can get somewhere then. I just hate that because other women have taken advantage of their medical leave that someone who actually needs it (read: me!!) can't get it.

  • I agree, that makes no sense that he told you to stay off your feet. When you told him you were a teacher he should have been more understanding. That's a good idea about a parent volunteer, probably any little bit would help.  I hope when you go on Monday you will get somewhere...so frustrating!

  • Oh no sweetie! I am so sorry to hear this! I missed your post earlier today, but I think I can see why you are upset! I know just having one 9yr old in my house (ds) requires me to constantly be on my feet and it is impossible to relax- so how do they expect you to do that w/ 24 8yr olds?! I really hope that you will be able to find a volunteer parent to come in and help you out for the next week- I'm sure this next dr next wk will be a bit more understanding and actually give you a written note. I hear you about being annoyed w/ those women who abuse the privilidge, I had that problem when I was pg w/ ds- I couldn't get a note to be released from work until I was 40wks! GL and keep your chin up, things will work out!
