How much to pay for a nanny?

Ok so this is my cleaning lady I am thinking about hiring 1 or 2 days per week. SHe is not a nanny but is great with my kids and has some of her own. I have known her for years and all my family uses her.

So I have 3 kids, almost 4, almost 2 and 8 weeks.

Her duties would vary, she would never have all 3 kids by herself 1 or 2 at most. But mostly I would be home with them or we would all go out together.

What do you think is a fair offer???

$45 per day that she's with you.  But, I'm in MI and might be way off on cost of living type things!

I'm in NYC and was hired as a babysitter for $15/hour for one child when I was also bringing my own child with me.

I guess it depends on the person and how educated they are, ect, but I pay $12.50 and hour for someone to come help me with 2 children.  She is a former daycare worker, but she doesn't have any formal education.
