Okay, e, I need your opinion on this

I currently have UD Book of Shadows in my cart. It looks so fun. I'm thinking it might be good because I really don't know what looks good on me, so I can experiment. Plus it comes with two liners, which I'd love.

Good idea? The wildest I get right now is lining my top lashes with purple eye shadow. I've always been a neutral girl, but I'm feeling like exploring some more color lately.

  • I'm totally butting in....I would personally go for one of the sets with warmer colors, I am not a huge fan of the cool-undertoned colors like the purple and greens in the set you posted.  I like this set better, personally:

I think those colors would be a lot more useable on a regular basis and give you some room to experiment.  Plus, you can always buy singles when you discover what color families you like on yourself.  I just know that for me, I wouldn't use a lot of the colors in the one you posted.  And, I do wear color about 4/7 days/week.  The other days are more neutral.

  • j*w*, I have been going back and forth and that's one that I keep thinking about. I'm so overwhelmed. I might think about it for a few more days.

ETA: Looking back at the product I originally posted, I can totally see what you're saying about those cooler colors. I think the one you suggested would be better, too.

  • I should send you one of the big kits I have...my sister's bff is in beauty PR and sends me more sets than I could ever use!  This is one she sent me that I LOVE:

Has some fun colors in it too!

  • That looks awesome! Now I'm even more confused. :)

I do like that it's about the same price as the second UD palette but it still has blush (which I need more of) and a liner.

  • I've been wanting that set SO BAD, so I would get it, but j*w might be right on colors depending on what you have/what you like.

In general, if you have a lot of neutral shadows, I think it's good to try one of the palettes.

OR, I really like the deluxe palette - this one:

I have it, and the bottom ones are pretty neutral, nice for highlight/bases but there are some fun colors too.  It's a little cheaper.

I love it because it has 2 liners (shadow to be used as liner)....if you can see under the squares of eyeshadow...in that same section there are rectangles of black/silver and brown/light brown.  Also 2 blushes, bronzer, and then the bottom rectangles are all lipglosses.  I use that set weekly!

  • Also, to add - the nice thing about the palette I posted is that it is pretty popular on the youtube tutorials - one girl in particular has 3-4 looks trying out the various colors in that, so it'd also have some direction on how to try it if you wanted that.

  • Thanks, girls. I'm going to sit on this for a day or two and then make a decision. I really appreciate all the thoughts.
