I have passed on my wussiness to DD

The other day when we were on a walk and we saw a huge grasshopper. DH was trying to show it to DD and the effer flew/jumped and landed on my as$ and I FREAKED. It was totally involuntary but I was running around yelling at DH "GET IT OFF ME, GET IT OFF ME".  After he GOT IT OFF ME, DD was NOT interested in his little science lesson anymore.

DH thought it was hilarious but it was absolutely an involuntary reaction on my part. I'm totally making DD a wuss too though. I wish I could chill out when stuff is harmless.

Anybody else like me???

Re: I have passed on my wussiness to DD

  • I am the same way! I always get a dirty look from DH because he doesn't want DD to be that way.

We went swimming one day. I grabbed my bathing suit from the pool fence and put it on. Got in the pool and noticed a weird feeling down at the bottom. I felt it and freaked. I opened the side of the bathing suit and a freaking lizard swims up to the top of the water. DH was not thrilled by my performance. It also scared the crap out of DD.

I also freak if a bee or wasp or anything goes nears me. I do watch the kids closely to make sure they don't go near them. I even took a sting in my finger the other day while "saving" DD from it. It probably would have left us alone if it wasn't for me. My first bee sting of my entire 32 years. Well, now I know I'm not allergic.

  • Um...ME! I am pretty much terrified of EVERYTHING!
  • Ha! That's hilarious! Bugs don't really bother me, but I just told you about my irrational fear of flying.

  • Being that I have a huge ol bruise on my arm from jumping, screaming....and subsquently falling over a chair, trying to run from a mouse in my classroom....then yes, I am in the same category as you. :)

OMG a lizard, a mouse! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK
  • I am sooo afraid of bugs (all sizes, shapes, poisonous or not). I've tried to be brave, but again this morning I was screaming like a little girl when there was a spider in the bathroom.

I've definitely passed it on to DD, who is also afraid of bugs and also fuzzies, feathers, etc. She also calls all bugs as "huge."
