Where to find solid shirts

I am wanting to do some applique work (1st birthday) on shirts for DS.  I dont want to purchase a whole pack (carters) but want nice quality.  Everything I find local is really cheap quality.

try old navy?  We have some hand me downs that are solid, and they've held up well.

This was going to be my suggestion as well.  They're really soft and nice quality.
