5 hour line ups for the H1N1 shot in my city

Ridiculous! They have 4 clinics in a city of 1 million.

  • We waited in line for 4.5 hours last Saturday for the vaccine.

  • I'm wondering if standing in cold weather for 5 hours w/ a bunch of strangers is really the best idea, within the overall goal of not getting sick. Huh?

  • I somehow managed to log on to the pedi's website during the 10-minute timeframe that they had online scheduling for the shots.  I called my friend right after I did it and she went out to schedule for her kids and there were no more available time slots!

I hope to God it goes smoothly so we don't have to wait like that.  The "appointment" is at 5:15 so they'll get crabby FAST with dinnertime approaching.

It was cold and raining the morning we went, but my mom stood in line for us while Preston and I sat in the truck and watched movies. My mom is a sweetheart for doing that!

  • It was 4 hours, cops involved, and they had to close early b/c they ran out, here.

Holy crap! Here they were supposed to close at 8:30 but they stayed open until 11pm so people who were there could get their shots. They closed the line-up at 6pm.
