DD just singed her hair

I have a candle burning on the dining room table and she leaned in too close to smell it and got her hair. I told her this is why she's not allowed to get close to it and she needs to leave it alone.

She's now crying that her isn't beautiful anymore. Thankfully, only 1 little tiny part was singed, so I was able to just brush it out.

Wow! That must have been scary for you! Toddlers and candles don't mix, for sure.

I don't think that my daughter has that self-awareness yet, to think about what she looks like to other people.  Either that or she doesn't care, LOL. 

I'm  sure your DD is still beautiful

It's my own fault. When I brush her hair in the morning, I tell her that hair is so beautiful.
