How do you find the best hospital to deliver your baby? I live in St. Charles so I was looking at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters since it is 10 minutes away. I've heard that St. Joseph's has had bad reviews but they were not specific. I've read good things about MoBap but I wasn't sure if I wanted to drive 25 minutes.
Confused?!?!?!
Re: Best Delivery Hospital???
I started with the doctor first. I found someone I really liked, and I will deliver at the hospital that she is affiliated with. Luckily she is with St. John's which I hear is a great place.... and have fairly new birthing suites.
Good luck!!
I would talk to her then and ask her which hospital she prefers?? Good luck.
My OB will deliver at St. Clare (Fenton) or MoBap. Haven't decided yet, I'm waiting until I'm either in labor or when we're scheduling an induction or c/s to check what their visitor policy is. When I had DS, I delivered at St. Joe's (had choice between St. Joe's and MoBap). MoBap just seemed too much "get in, have your baby, get out". St. Joe's (which St. Clare's replaced) just seemed more mellow and personal.
ETA: St. Joe's in Kirkwood, don't have experience with the other location.

I was also considering Mo Baptist or St.Johns I've heard that they are the best from friends and co-workers
I loved MoBap!!! when we have our next we will be going there again
same
I have no experience with their maternity ward, but I had a couple of stays at St John's last year due to a car accident I was in (spent 2 weeks and 3 surgeries on the trauma ICU and then had a fourth surgery a few months later and spent that time in the PACU and ortho floors) and honestly I wouldn't go anywhere else if I had the choice. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The doctors are phenomenal, the nurses are wonderful... Even the hospital food is above average! LOL
I live over an hour away from St Johns so right now I am planning on delivering at a local hospital but I am not ruling out St John's either, since with my existing medical problems, I will most likely end up being high risk. St Luke's is awesome too... my husband had a back surgery there a year and a half ago and that hospital is top notch too.
I plan to deliver at St. John's Medical Center. But I am sure that there are many good hospitals out there which work better for where you live. SJMMC is my choice because if baby needs neonatal specialists they are all at the same location, no transfers necessary!
