Blackberry or internet cell phone users?

  If I get a blackberry or a cell with internet capabilities... can I plug it into a laptop and therefore the laptop be 'on the net'?

I don't think so. You need an "aircard" for that.

I believe Verizon Blackberrys have this, but you pay extra for it.

mh can do this with his work bb and laptop...but not sure how he does it.

You'll have to add a mobile broadband "tethering" feature. At least that's how it works with Vzw. It depends on which data plan you have as to how much it will cost you.
