I don't have an issue with my IL's coming down, but here's how it went down:
"We're planning on coming down in November."
ok..when?
" We aren't sure when."
Do you know approximately when?
" We can't give you an approximate. Probably not the first two weeks, but it depends on when our windows and doors come in, and the weather."
I don't have a problem with them coming. I have a problem a bit with the fact that they have to stay in the one room of our house that is not insulated, is somewhat falling apart (plaster walls), smells dusty, has no bed in it, doesn't have a light...or grounded plug ins yet. More so, don't normal people ask if it would be alright for them to come at such and such a time instead of telling you they are coming then, but being ambiguous of the when? Then we were told it would be no shorter than a weekend, no longer than a week. Now we have an approximate date, but the length is still undecided...oi Like I had nothing better to do than to keep half of a month clear because of someone else's ambiguity!
Re: Is this rude to you?
I hate that. My ILs do that a lot too.
I have to tell my FI to get a date, or else I'll plan something else.
My MIL was actually in town in September and didn't even see Jacob. I had made other plans ages before and she gave us no warning. Tough.
Your IL's can't stay at a hotel since the room isn't really ready for them to stay?
They told DH tonight that they're bringing a blow-up bed..lol
Could you "accidentally" poke a hole in it? A small one so it just deflates slowly overnight or is that just really mean?
Well I do have a very active kitten who could "accidentally" get in there room...lol
