when did you take dc to the dentist & another question

what age did you take dc to the dentist for the first time, what did they do, and did you take them to a pediatric dentist or just whoever you usually go to?

I took DS at 1 years old, they cleaned everything ( all 6 teeth, lol). and added vitamins on them. and they checked out his gum.  I took him to a pediatric dentist, and we've been going every six months since then. But the reason I took him initially was because he had little white spots on his teeth, and I was worried, they turned out to be nothing. We will be taking DD nnext month and she's only 9 months old, and has 2 teeth.

We took my DD when she was 3.  My mom works at the dentist we go to and that's what they recommend.  They aren't ped. dentists but do work with LOTs of kids.  Also, my kids have been there tons of times and are very comfortable with the staff there.  I possibly would have done the pediatric dentist if we didn't have this one though.

dd was 2 1/2... b/c she fell and chipped a tooth.  that was with a pedi dentist. she later had a cleaning with him.  but when our ins changed , we had to have a referral to see a pedi dentist.  we decided to switch to a family dentist. He's better with her than the pedi one was.  has his office decorated with disney drawings.  so sweet with her. the other (pedi) office had me holding her which freaked her out... this fam dentist made her feel like a big girl and had her sit on her own. she is a trooper with him and his hygienists.  I will probably bring ds with us for her next appt to watch.   and then at the next 6 month appt schedule his check up.

3.5 years.  I called at 3 years, per my peds suggestion, and they said to wait until school started, since they could spend more time with her/were not as busy.  She got a good report, teeth cleaned, and wanted to go back.  I took her to a pediatric dentist.

DD was 3 and then DS was 2.   They go to a pediatric dentist.

DS was 3. I took him to my regular dentist.  He had a cleaning and flouride treatment, I think.  He LOVED it.  I took pictures and he has a huge grin on his face.

I will also take DD when she is 3 to our regular dentist.

We took DS just before he turned 3 (32 mo.) to a pediatric dentist for a checkup and cleaning.  He LOVED it and did so well.  They don't do xrays until they're 4.  They just did a thorough cleaning and exam and told us to bring him back every 6 mo. and to make sure we brush 2x a day and floss every day.

dd was 9 mos (as close as we could get in her to a year old).  Up untill 6 mos ago they just looked at her teeth.  6 mos ago they tried to do x-rays and a cleaning just to see if she would let them.  She refused so they did not push it.  She goes on wed for her cleaning and x-rays.  Its a ped dentisit.
