I never really went into the store but my bff bought me a sweater and I had to exchange it for size. I ended up buying a pair of new shoes (Merrills), pj's and 2 outfits for dd and pj's for myself...I am addicted to this store now!
I must be the laziest person alive. I despise Marshalls. Why? Because I hate when all items that are the same are not grouped together and in size order. I don't like digging through the racks.
You sound like my MIL. She loves that place and has a Marshall's bumper sticker.
I've tried to like it, but I feel claustrophobic in there. I found a few nice things when Evan was a baby and I had time to shop while he napped in the stroller, but now I just don't have the time or inclination to dig through all the crap to find the good stuff.

This is exactly why I hate Goodwill, Burlington, TJMaxx, all of it....I want to see something I like and grab it in my size.
That said, I will hit Marshalls for their shoe dept (for kids especially) because it's sorted by style...and I'll check out the toy dept for good deals (quick browse to see if I see things we like then dig for the deal). I found some Melissa & Doug puzzles not too long ago for $5-7 at Marshalls.
