I got a friend request from a guy I do not know AND we have no friends in common.  I clicked ignore but goodness I'm creeped out big time.  This is the first time its ever happen & wondering if it ever happen to you girls.

Yeah, it's happened to me. I just assumed that the person thought I was someone else.

a couple of times, but it's never bothered me.  I'm sure I'm not the only person with my name out there and I think a lot of people friend-request many people of the same name trying to find the person they actually knew.  My profile's private, so it's not like they're getting any information about me by sending a friend request

Have had it happen a couple of times, and yes definitely hit the "ignore" button.  Remember, anyone can try to friend you ... it's up to you to keep your info safe by only letting people have access to it whom you know/trust.  

Scary to think people would friend random individuals, but I'm willing to bet there's a small percentage of people who fall for it.  Yikes!!!

I did send a friend to someone that I did not know because the picuture looked like the person I was looking for.  It ended up not being the person but the picture was tiny and it did look just like the person.  So maybe thats what happened.
