lunch ideas

DH is sick of sandwiches, and I don't blame him.  The only problem is that he has no access to a microwave/oven/stove at his job sites.

Do any of you have any lunch suggestions that don't need to be heated up?

Re: lunch ideas

  • How about a wrap. Or tuna/chicken salad and crackers. Or soup in a thermos.

  • I sometimes make a bean medley with dressing and veggies. Or I've made pasta salads (like Greek pasta). They've been hits, but my DH likes a lot of different foods, not sure what your situation is :)

  • When I was in elem/middle school my mom used to get a thermos really hot with boiling water and let it sit in there while she made soup for me. Then she'd put the hot soup in the hot thermos and it stayed hot until lunch time. That might be an idea, especially for the winter?

  • Great ideas.  Thanks!

He is just so sick of the lunch meat, bread, cheese monotony.

  • MH loves cold pizza, so if yours does too, that's always an option (I personally need to heat it up).

Also, you could do salads. You could grill chicken at the beginning of the week, and it'll be great cold on a salad. Little prep time for you in the am, too, since the chicken will already be grilled.

    Edited to make sense!

  • You could do some soup, and put it in a thermos.  That should keep it pretty warm through lunch time.  Otherwise, you could make some different salads (pasta salad, fruit salad, etc.)
