Funny how life changes. Today is our 5 year anniversary and this was the year that we were supposed to start trying for kids and be taking a trip back to Hawaii (where we went for our honeymoon). Now we are pregnant with number two and going to the Alamo Drafthouse tonight to celebrate. ha ha! Oh well, I wouldn't change it for anything but it's so funny how life's little plans change so quickly, especially when kids enter the picture. Gotta love it though.

Plans Schlams
Although, being in Hawaii right now sounds really nice!
(read it. you know you want to.)

Yeah, we originally planned to wait 4 years until we started trying. After a year and a half we couldn't figure out what we were waiting for.
The Blog
Yeah and September we were supposed to start trying for number 2. My DH said we should stop trying to make plans cause we never stick to them. Ha! I couldn't imagine it just being me and him for 5 years. We've already been together for 11. I would have gotten bored. jk
Happy anniversary!
You should stop somewhere for daiquiri mix and little paper umbrellas on your way home tonight. You can make a little Hawaii in your kitchen tonight!
DH and I talk about our plans (and mostly our deviation from them) sometimes, too -- usually right around anniversary time. Our plan was to get married (check), then after that DH would finish his doctorate and get a teaching position at a university somewhere. Then we'd start a family. And while the kids were little, I'd get my master's. Um, yeah...
I got pregnant within our first month of marriage. I wound up miscarrying, but it was such a huge blessing in that it pointed out that at 35 (me) and 36 (him), we had no business waiting around if we wanted a family.
We'll be married four years in December, and in those four years we've moved twice, bought a house, and had two kids. Craziness! But the best possible kind of craziness.
What's that saying about plans? That God laughs a little when we make them? I really think it must be true.
LOL! I will have to use this. Totally true.
Happy Anniversary!
Sometimes I feel like I'll never get to Hawaii, but the boys are so worth it.
Some day, right? :-)
