Terbutaline pills

How bad were they for you? I only need to take them if I am feeling alot of contractions and uncomfortable. My cervix is fine so the Dr. is not worried. I have heard terrible things about them though.. anyone taken them?

Re: Terbutaline pills

  • I was on them from 30-36 wks (every 6 hrs I think).  They sucked at first, but you really do get used to them after a while and you dont get so jittery and all that.  I still had contrax while on them, but I think they stopped the contrax from getting into a pattern.

  • You definitely get used to them.  I was jittery and my heart/pulse would race at first, but after awhile, it wasn't bad at all.  I had terb shots intermittently from weeks 22 to 27, then terb pills every 4 hours from week 28 till 36.

  • I just took a low dose and it's killer. I can't imagine taking more.

  • I started taking them and 25 weeks and still do. Like PP said, it was crappy at first - I was shaky and my heart raced, but after a while your body adjusts and you don't even notice the difference.

     Good luck :o)

  • Terbutaline was awful for me.  I was shaking and my heartrate was really high.  They switched me to procardia instead.  I was on that from 25-36 weeks.
