As the mother of a boy I cannot imagine the absolute hell this woman has been through in the last 9 years. Her son caused many people pain but geez my heart brakes for this woman.
Every time I read an article of this sort, I always instantly think of my nephew.
There was one part in particular that sounds EXACTLY like him. Extremely highly intelligent --- always has been --- but very socially awkward. My sister FINALLY has him in therapy but won't divulge many details as she, like my father, feels shamed by these type of things and keeps it private.
It saddens me!
And that article, I want to hug Dylan's mom!! So so sad!!!
That is just heart breaking. I cannot even imagine what she goes through each day.
My DH's cousin killed his wife and committed suicide right before Christmas last year. I know it was so hard on the family to not only mourn his loss, but to reconcile themselves with the fact that their son/brother/nephew/cousin was a murderer. It was awful.
I am so glad that someone is telling the other side. It sucks what he did, and all of those families have every right to be angry, etc. But she lost her child, and has to live with the fact that he caused that pain for so many people. I can't even immagine being in her position.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. I feel for her. It's just as hard to be on the other side.
Good article. I was in high school when this happened! Scary time for all students. I feel for the mother, losing a child and thinking about all the families forever. She is a strong woman!
That is my thought even though this kid killed many people it was still her child. She lost her child and the horror he did to so many families must just eat her up alive. I cannot imagine this being my child.
Has anyone read Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult? It's about a Columbine-like massacre, and written from the mother's perspective. It really softened my heart to the parents of the killers, even before this article came out.

You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
