As much as I want LO home ASAP

I hope she isn't discharged Friday or things will get REALLY UGLY with MIL. After LO being in the unit for so long, I just really want me, Daddy, and LO to have some quality time ALONE for a few days.

MIL is already starting about how she is coming down this weekend if she is home, and bringing 8373987458347538745 family members in tow. I already made it clear to DH that I do not want ANYONE else there, but I have a feeling she will not respect boundaries and I will have to be the one to slam the door in her face. (I'm so not above that after she invited 8 of her family members over to MY house when I was 32 weeks pregnant and had the audacity to call me a Prima Donna when I sat in the chair and refused to wait on them.)

I don't care that DH's grandparents are leaving for Florida and this is their last weekend here, they came to the hospital already to see LO and they didn't care to stick around long enough for her actual due date or their 1 year old niece's first birthday.

DH asked me to trust him that he would handle things, but I seriously doubt his mother's ability to honor his requests.

  • I am so sorry, I too have HUGE in law problems.  I have zero advice just here to say sorry and GL.  BTW. I would slam the door in her face too LOL

  • I'm so sorry.  :::hugs:::  My MIL also doesn't understand why we are not attending large extended family get-togethers this year and why I didn't want to have my shower after DS was home so everyone could come see him.  So, unfortunately I don't have any advice other than to stick to your guns.  LO is your baby and you have the say on who gets to see her.

  • UGH!!  that stinks.  I am so lucky in the IL department, but not so much in the parent department, guess you can't win them all!  My mom hasn't even seen my son..her loss for sure!
  • If needs be tell your DH you and him are getting a hotel room (bring your bassinet) and will hide the entire weekend.  I agree 100% those first few days should just be you all.
