Any home remedies for a cough in a toddler?

DD has a really bad cough.  I swear it sounds like she is coughing up a lung.  She does not have a runny nose or fever (that I know of) and no wheezing.  She did have a stuffy nose over the weekend and a fever on saturday night but by morning it was gone.  Her cough is getting worse and worse and its worse at night then during the day time.  Is there anything I can do to help her out.

  • We give our toddlers Children's Benedryl when they have bad coughs. Also, Vick's on the soles of their feet, covered with socks.

  • I let me girls drink hot jello. (put the hot water in but not the cold and let it cool just enough to drink it)  It coats their throats much like a cough medicine would.
  • They say honey or corn syrup also help with coughing.

  • ditto Lizlemon. I also do that for upset tummies (or when I have a hangover LOL)
  • Thank you I will try all that.  I did a water, honey and lemon thing but she will only take it thru a dropper like meds so that was out.
