Every bottle I have says, "Do not store above 110*F." Does that temp deactivate it? Because I'm pretty sure the bottles that were manufactured in Ontario, Canada were shipped to my Costco in a tractor trailer that wasn't refridgerated...
Great. Now I have one more thing to be paranoid about!
Re: So...antibacterial hand gel...
I wouldn't worry about it
::putting on my chemical engineer hat:: I'm guessing the warning label is because the alcolol starts to evaporate out of the gel at higher temps. The higher the temps, the more alcohol evaporates out. But, if it's still liquidy and smells like alcohol when you use it, you're getting more than enough of the alcohol to kill germs.
I live in Arizona, where the temps regularly go over 115? in the summer. I've left gels in the car, and it's pretty obvious when the alcohol evaporates out. A full bottle of gel turns into a tiny ayer of crud that barely covers the bottom of the bottle when the alcohol is gone.
