DH works on a contract that was rebid and his company lost the contract. There's no other contract within his company to move him to. The current contract will wrap up on Nov. 30, then he's out of a job. (Merry Christmas!)His only hope is to try to get the winning company to hire him, but with the recession, no one is really hiring. He has very specialized skills too, so he's going to probably have a tough time finding another job.
So it looks like he's going to be a SAHD and I will go back to work full-time. (I've been working part-time for a few years.) We should be OK moneywise -- it's just going to mean less money in our retirement funds and DS's college fund.
This sucks.
Re: Well great -- DH doesn't have a job after next month.
Do your best to be positive with him and not nag to much. I think I did a little to much "I'm so worried" and "Did you send your resume out today" and it made things harder for both of us.
Hope it's over soon.

Well, at this point it looks like I'm going to have to take the first job offered. At least the job I have is fairly secure -- if I can get something better, I'll take it. I'll just see how things shake out.
