I've never gotten one. Never gotten the flu. I am not in a risk group, so I won't be able to receive the H1N1 vax. How many of you got one? Should I?

Got mine at the pharmacy at Target about a week or two ago.  (Seasonal flu shot).  The one and only year I didn't get a flu shot, I ended up getting the flu.  And thought I was going to die I was so sick!

I get the seasonal flu shot every year, so far no issues. I am a teacher so I think it is essential.

This year was my second time getting it. I got the flu once when I was in college. I was so sick from it, I never want to relive that.

I am not hysterical, just practical.  I know a 5 year old who has been in the hospital for 3 weeks with H1N1.  I have 2 kids.  My DH works.  My mother drives me bat crazy, so I need the kids not to get sick.  I don't get why people don't get it other than it is a PITA to go to the doctor 3 times for flu shots.

I never get the flu shot and did this year.  I can't imagine being flat on my back for a week or more with two kids.  I went through that at age 24 and it was horrible.  Ended up with bronchitis and my throat swelled up, combined with the thick mucous in my throat from being sick I ended up unable to breathe.  Thankfully I lived with my parents and started banging on the wall to get attention and help and ended up at the ER.  I can't imagine having that happen or getting my own kids sick like that.
