Okay, so DH snores and I have insomnia and the snoring doesn't help! I have decided to break down and get some earplus. I was at Target Monday night and couldn't find any, but also didn't ask. I'm thinking I need to hit up the drug store.
Do you have earplus? Where did you get them? What kind work best?
TIA!
Re: Does your DH snore?
Walmart.... trust me, my dad used to shake the whole house so i feel you!
Yeah, I was worried about making him feel bad and it's why I haven't done it sooner. But he feels so bad that he keeps me up that he keeps offering to sleep in the guestroom. I certainly don't want that to happen!

DH snores when he's super tired. I know from his dad that I can look forward to it getting worse.
I have earplugs for when I shoot and I think I got them from Walmart. A sporting goods store would probably have it too.
I have considered wearing earplugs while sleeping, but it makes me too anxious (not being able to hear if something is going on).
Yup, he won't wear them. I always roll him over, but that wakes both of us up. And he's so much bigger and stronger then me, it's hard to flip him when he's dead asleep.

Yes!!! My DH snores - especially if he is super tired or has been drinking. I use earplugs that he has when he goes to shoot his gun at the range (that sounds to trashy). I don't know what brand they are but they don't work for shiit. They are the foamy ones that you squeeze together and then spread back apart once you put them in your ears. It muffles the snoring a little.
Yesterday was our anniversary and I got him a card that said the following:
"Sometimes when we're lying in bed I look over at you and think 'I am so lucky' ... and then you start snoring in a snorty kind of way and I think 'Well, that's annoying but I'm still lucky'.
It was perfect.
Thanks! I'll try these!

DH rarely snores but I snore and DH can't stand it! LOL! Usually it only happens when I'm sick, drunk or just really tired.
Apparently when I was pregnant with DS the snoring got very bad. I wore Breathe Right strips when PG w/ DS and one night I fell asleep without one and woke up to DH putting one on me.
Mine used to but now he wears a CPAP machine so no more snoring for him!!
I would try looking in the "outdoors" section....hunting, fishing, camping. ??
Mine uses these when his allergies act up and he can't breathe (hence the snoring) They work surprisingly well. And they help him breathe so it's a win/win situation.
HA!!!! That's perfect! I'll need to try and find that one!

I tried to put one on DH one night and he woke up thinking I was trying to suffocate him!

Me too!
IVF#3 brought us our miracle baby girl on June 26, 2012
Mine has a deviated septum, but surprisingly, the snoring isn't too bad. All I usually have to do is nudge him or turn his head and he stops. But I agree it can be super hard to fall asleep with all that noise. I also have a dog that snores, sometimes louder than him!
Sorry that your attempts have not led you to a better night's sleep. Odd that he'll offer to sleep in another room, but won't wear breathe strips...

THIS! DH snores SO badly, but when he wears the breathe right strips, I dont hear a peep! Its glorious! Publix sells them too, and you can get a box of 30 for about $5.99. My sanity is WELL worth $6 a month!

He hasn't, I don't think he ever will. I don't think it's bad enough for sleep apnea. I lay there listening for hours! And he never has that catch where they stop breathing. He has a long, loud snore on the inhale and then the highly annoying lip quiver mouth exhale. So he makes noise coming and going and it's always very steady. That's certainly not scientific, but I think it's just a snoring situation.

Before I started wearing ear plugs I use to put a pillow over his head.
I know it sounds really bad but if I put one over his head and one over mine it muffled the sound and usually I was able to fall back asleep. He was convinced that I was trying to kill him.
Hallmark ... Shoebox
I bought these at Walgreens...they work pretty well. MH snores like a grizzly!
Oh my GOD does DH snore. It's quite ridiculous - he is so loud. And he goes through these several minute long phases where he'll breathe normally and then each breath gets more snorey (?) and loud until finally he gives this huge snort and half wakes himself up. Then it starts all over.
I should buy stock in the ear plug company. I'll see if I can find which I use - I get them at Target, Walmart or the grocery store. They work ok on relatively calm nights but sometimes he's just too loud and I have to sleep on the couch.
I love that these are pink! Maybe I'll trying sticking them up his nose too!

Actually I'm the snorer in our bedroom. But I have bought plugs because DS snores and he slept in our room one weekend and I was dying!!
Howard Leight are comfy and easy to find.
Perfect!! LOL!
I tried the ear plugs, but I didn't like the pressure I felt in my head.
Plus, I am worried about being able to hear the baby (when we have one) with earplugs.
I started sleeping in the guest bedroom, which hurt my DH's feelings. So he did a sleep study and now has a CPAP machine. Not attractive, but NO MORE SNORING. That machine is a miracle. And insurance covered all of it. I really hated when we travelled, because in a hotel room, I had no escape from his snoring.
