North Carolina Babies

We found a place to live! :)

YAY!!  I can't tell you how relieved I am that we found a place.  Its a 2 story townhome, and we've gotten some grief from grandparents about how unsafe it is to have 2 stories with young kids, but its got EVERYTHING we need in a place to live...AND the best price around.  We did make sure they would let us put a baby gate at the top of the stairs that attaches to the wall and they were ok with that (if they had said no we wouldn't be renting it).

Anyway, we're so excited!  Now I can relax and ENJOY Jeremiah's birthday and party next week!!  We still have the beach condo his company is paying for until the girls' birthday, so that'll be nice to relax here for a little while!

  • Congrats!  What a relief I'm sure.

We have a 2 story and I don't find it to be any more hazardous than the other million things you need to look after when your children are around.  There's always something!

  • That's great! What a relief. I agree with Racey... if it isn't 1 thing it's another.
  • Its definitely one thing or another, and if they had all been with us to see all our options, they would see that we picked the best one.  It was either a swamp in the back yard, a loft/ledge at the stairs (and I have 3 that LOVE to climb), brick fire places...I could list so much!  This one is at least something I can help stop problems with by using a baby gate and the girls are getting really good at steps anyway.  I can't wrap my kids in a bubble and protect them from EVERYTHING!

  • That's great news...I am sure you are relieved.  I wouldn't worry about the 2-stories.  Plenty of people own 2-story homes with children.  My sibllings and I all grew up in a 2-story home and if anything...sliding down those stairs in a footed pj's was one of the best memories I have from my childhood.
  • Awesome! Sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you guys!

  • Yay!!

And if it makes you feel better we have a 2-story (well really 4 stories since we have a full basement & a walk-up attic) and a brick fireplace. So much danger, yet J is here & safe!

  • Awesome! Congrats!
We've got stairs too.. A ranch might be ideal for little ones, but often hard to find (with enough space, anyway!) If I could build my perfect house, it would be a ranch though. :-)

  • Congratulations! Good luck with your move.
  • Congrats! I know you are so happy to have that checked off the list. We have 2 stories and although you have to make sure to shut your gates it's not really a safety issue.
