H1N1 and gym daycare

I love my gym and it is a huge sanity saver, but I'm semi-terrified to take DS there once he's old enough (3 months). I've been dying to get back to working out but I'm worried about him getting sick. DD has had both the seasonal and h1n1 vaccines so I'm not worried about her. Would you risk it with an infant?

Re: H1N1 and gym daycare

  • No I wouldn't risk it if you could have dh stay home with ds.  I think that this season, it will be everywhere and when he is that small, not worth the risk. But with that said, I think it is hard to avoid being exposed.  You could be at the grocery store and catch it from someone near you, kwim?

  • I'm going through the same thing with Maren.  My gym is 6 months, which she will be on the 29th.  I want to go SO bad.  The rational side reminds myself that it is airborn, so she could get it at the grocery store.  Plus, Noah had it over the summer and it was not bad.  BUT I am still terrified of her getting sick.  I have no idea what I will do once she is actually  6 months and can go.  I will definitely wait until she has her flu shot.  We are not H1N1'ing our kids though.

IDK.  This was not helpful, but I do feel your pain!

  • I would not.  MY kids always get sick from the gym daycare :(  I have been going early before MH goes to work-- but now that they have both flu vaccines (my kids are 1 and 3), I will take them again.
