If you have a baby (6 months +)

Are you getting them BOTH the seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccinations?  My DD is 7 months old and I don't know what to do.  I already got her the 1st dose of the seasonal flu shot...but if we decide to also do H1N1, that means she'll be getting 4 flu shots this season.

I have friends that are doctors, I have done some research, but I am still so undecided.

Just curious what others are doing???

  • I would absolutely get it if I can.  Right now, it is not an option.  DD and I got the regular flu mist.  DS is getting his first flu shot tomorrow, but the H1N1 is not available at our pediatrician and DS is too little to get it at most other places, and I am kind of unsure about him getting it some place random, like a CVS, where there is not a real doctor, since he is just 7 months.

  • She's already had both parts of the seasonal.

H1N1 isn't available around here yet.

  • Yes, we're going to try to get the H1N1 on Saturday, the health department is giving it out, so I'm sure the line is going to be very long.
  • Yes but there is no way we are going to get the H1N1 any time soon, there is no where to get them.
  • DD has had both rounds of the seasonal shot, and the first of the H1N1. I don't think I'll be able to get her the 2nd shot though, as they are already out at my Pedi
  • We're not getting our baby (10 months) the flu or H1N1 vaccines.  He has multiple food allergies, one of them being egg.  We could have it given to him at our allergy clinic, but we really don't feel the risk of anaphylaxis is worth it.  We're 95% sure he's already had H1N1 anyway.
  • If it ever becomes available we will. So far I've only managed to get her one seasonal shot!
