I was just thinking about this. I don't play with my kids that much. They are almost 5 and 3, so being close in age they like to play together. I set up toys for them to keep them busy and help them, but other than that I spend the day cleaning while they play. I talk to them, talk about what they are playing etc., but don't actually get down on the floor and play with them too much.
Is that bad of me? I feel bad sometimes, but they have no trouble entertaining themselves. If they ask, I do play with them.
We do a lot of crafts and cooking activities. We play board games (I hate board games though!). We read a lot of books. A few weeks ago they were really into playing salon and I was the client. Other than that, they run around outside and play with each other.
