thomas circle. It's near the metro-mcpherson square station. What is this near? It's hard for me to tell walking distances from just a map. the main places we want to go are: georgetown, the zoo and probably a smithsonian museum of some sort. we are only going fri-sunday, so not a ton of time. Anything else you can recommend?
Re: ok, anther d.c. question: we are staying right near
Where are you staying? Its about 10 minute walk downhill to McPherson Square (I've worked in this neighborhood for 10+ years) and right by the White House. Maybe another 15 minutes walk to the Mall/Smithsonian museums. Thomas Circle has some crazy traffic though so you'll need to pay attention!
Georgetown is a bit of hike. .. maybe 30ish minute walk. You can take Metro to the Foggy Bottom Metro and walk.
If you go to Georgetown, try to go into Rock Creek Park, walk along the water from Georgetown past the Kennedy Center
