s/o urgent care

what is it?

is it like going to the doctor's office or is it more like the er?  i've never heard this term until i got on these boards.

  • They are usually open later hours than Dr. offices and sometimes a nicer alternative than having to go to the ER.

  • it's like going to the er during regular business hours.  also, they are usually seperate from hospitals and more prevelant. 
  • FWIW there isn't one that I've come across in Philly.  It's doctors office or ER for us.  :(

  • I call in Doc in a box, basically a walk-in clinic.

    That's what I thought.  I've never heard of it and I've been in this area my whole life.  It must be a regional thing.  I wish we had something like that here.  Oh well...

    I know, I've never seen or heard of them until they opened one near Chadds Ford area.  I'm in West Chester so it's actually pretty close for me.  It's called Pioneer Urgent Care, I think.  For me, I still call the nurse/emergency line at my dr./ds's dr.
