Ugh, we think there's mold in DD room.

GOD I'm SO done with old houses. We've been able to smell it for the past few days so we're having someone come and look for us. DD has been sleeping in a PNP in our room since we started smelling it. If there is mold this is the final straw for us, we'll put the house up on the market (after fixing the mold obviously). I grew up in a house with mold and now it's my biggest allergy trigger. PRE-FAB SUBURBS HERE I COME!

  • Oh no!  I hope you guys can get it fixed quickly! (and its hopefully not too expensive!)

  • All houses have some mold, even burb ones, some of them are worse because they have house wrap which doesn't let the house "breathe" so when you have it, it can be a lot worse.  Have you tried running a dehumidifyer in the house or a fan under the house in that area, assuming you have a crawl or dirt basement if you live in an old house?  DS's room was getting mildew, since we have had 90 days of rain in Atlanta, and these two things helped immensely.  Also, we put down a plastic sheeting/drain thing that prevents water from getting within 4 feet of the foundation in that room and it is 100% better in just a few days.
