First, let me start by saying that I've been a lurker for almost a year and a half so I know all about the stupid questions, feel free to flame if you feel this is one of them. But my husband is out of town on a hunting trip and is hard to get a hold of right now, and I have this irrational fear that something could go wrong at my appt on Wed and I'll be all alone. With that being said here is where my fear stems from.
While I know that everyone feels there baby at different times it totally freaks me out the my step sister who is 3 1/2 weeks behind me (so fifteen weeks) can feel her baby doing "flips in her tummy" and says her husband has felt it from the outside, while I haven't felt anything definite yet. It just freaks me out because I know things can go wrong and you might not know until you go to the doctor for a routine visit. So flame if you feel the need, but how would this make you feel?
Re: Am I being irrational...
You said yourself every pregnancy is different. You can't compare what's going on in your ute with what is going on in your SIL's. It will drive you crazy.
Bring up your concern to your Dr. I'm sure they will be able to assuage your feelings.

Are you being irrational? Probably
But I am the same way. Even though I feel him moving in there before my appointments I always get worried and wonder if something is wrong. I think it is normal to have some irrational fears while you are pregnant.
P.S.- I didn't feel him move at all (or if I did I didn't know it) until 18 weeks and my doctor actually said not to expect it until 20 weeks.
The only advice I can give is everyone and every pregnancy is different. I felt my DS around 15 weeks (definitely not "flips" but taps and whatnot...and definitely not on the outside). So I was concerned when I wasn't feeling movement with my second pregnancy that early. I didn't feel movement with this one until after 18 weeks.
One way to ease your mind is to buy or rent a doppler. You can check on baby's heartbeat and that should provide some sort of reassurance.
Ditto Jessis. Don't compare your symptoms/feelings etc to your SIL's. It will drive you insane.
If it makes you feel any better I didn't feel a thing until 20 weeks or so!
I flipped out before every appointment up until after my 20 week appointment when I could feel him move around and kick regularly.
FWIW, I felt him move at about 18 weeks, but it was super faint and was more of a buzz. I didn't get kicks until 21 weeks or so.
1. I think your SIL is full of it. I don't doubt that SHE can feel it, but her DH feeling it from the outside? Doubtful, unless it she slept with a Cullen.
2. I'm sure you are fine. Many women don't feel movement until later in the pregnancy.
Feeling movement at 15 weeks is rare, and even if she's feeling it from the inside, I'm willing to bet that her H is feeling gas bubbles or something from the outside.
I was just starting to randomly feel movement inside at 18 1/2 weeks, and that was with two of them in there. I was about 22 weeks before it could be felt from the outside, and even then people weren't sure if they were actually feeling the babies or me breathing, moving, etc.
I'm sure things are fine, but no it's not irrational to be scared of the what ifs during pregnancy. We all do it one way or another.

I totally skimmed your response the first time and didn't see that.
Awesome!
