Just thought I'd suggest the place we take Scott for haircuts if you don't know where to take Natalie for her first "real" cut. We go to Kidz Kutz in WF.  Probably still a bit of a drive for you but it's near Capital and Main--sort of across the street from Mellow Mushroom and the Jeffers and Mann office building if you know where those are.  They have cool chairs for the kids to sit in, tons of stuff to play with/on while waiting--very kid friendly!
