Any Nurses Here?

My DD broke out in a rash on Saturday which started to swell.  The rash was initially only on her feet and legs and honestly looked more like welts that were raised, red and itchy.  I took her to an urgicare and she was diagnosed as having an allergic reaction.  She has been on prednisone for 2 days now and is still having symptoms.

How long does it take for an allergic reaction to get out of the system and whay do her bumps show up raised then disapear for hours and come back?  I am trying to get an appt with her pediatrician but they aren't open for a little bit.  Any help is much appreciated.
