diaper rash and funny all in one

Poor Jack slept horrible last nite and now i'm feeling bad thinking the diaper rash had gotten worse over nite cuz it was bad this morning...even was bleeding a lil bit...so i loaded him up on Desitin with vaseline layer over it....but i felt so horrible wiping with wipes as tat was before I realized how much it hurt him....and i being a nice mommy let him have his diaper off to air out before i put on the cream and diaper...and what does he do.....pee on my floor! any oter advice or helping with the rash...i plan to use a wet wash cloth vs. wipes now. and the desitin/vaseline.

My pedi recommended this for severe diaper rash (all OTC products):

Equal parts A&D ointment, Lotrimin and 1% Hydrocortisone cream all mixed together and applied to the rash.

I tried it but ending up having better results when I replaced the A&D ointment with 40% zinc oxide Desitin.

We also put baking soda in her bath water.

I tried no diaper time in the house and had the same result.  Plus it didn't seem to help her much.

thanks for the recommendation...i think ill try replacing the A&D with desition as I already have that at home along with the other 2 .
