You have to get a DSLR for true continuous shooting mode.
I have a Canon G10 that is not a DSLR, but it has Sport and Kids & Pets modes to capture movement. It does a great job; a lot of the Canon's have that ability if you don't want to spend $2,000 for a camera. I think mine was around $400. They just came out w/ the G11, so the G10 might be cheaper now. I LOVE it and use Sport mode all the time. I captured DD casting her fishing rod mid-cast using it.
We have a Sony cybershot and on it there is a setting where as long as you're pressing down on the button, it's taking pics. I only wish I would have discovered that earlier!
