XP from 0-3: how many bottles EBF/Pumping/daycare??

Hi All -?

I am returning to work when my DS is 6 weeks old. We are EBF right now and I have started pumping. DS gets a bottle usually once a day right now from DH. DS will be in daycare 3 days a week and watched at home by my parents the other 2 days.

How many bottles will we need?

I will be pumping while at work as well. I was considering getting the conversion kit to be able to pump into the avent bottles. Do you think thats a good idea - or should I continue to pump into the small bottles and transfer??

Thnaks in advance for any advice you may have.

Ruth?

Re: XP from 0-3: how many bottles EBF/Pumping/daycare??

  • At 6 weeks my DS was eating 7 bottles of 4oz in a 24 hour period, FF.

    He was 10lbs 8oz at 4 weeks and 12lb 13oz at 8 weeks....so probably about 11lbs.

The general rule of thumb is weight divided by 2 for the number of ounces in a single bottle.  Then weight multiplied by 2.5 for the number of ounces in a 24 hour period.  This is just an estimate, but we've found it to be pretty accurate.
