Babies on the Brain

Because I'm bored...one thing that would shock you about me.

You all have to play along.  Post one thing that would shock us about yourself.  It could be anything from having an extra limb to cheating your way through highschool.  Or it could be something boring like your favorite music is oldies or you have never left the state you live in.

And go!

  • I actually used to be very needy and clingy in relationships.  I was the girl who ALWAYS called and if I didn't hear from said boyfriend right away I would call again.  And again and assume he was cheating on me or something else.

Yet here I am now, probably the most independent girl out of my friends who manages to live the life of a part--time single mom while her husband is out in different states doing who knows what.  And I don't even for a second worry that he's cheating on me.

I like you in fake life!

  • I am a raging *** when DH goes out.  It's awful.  He is not like that with me.  I cop all kinds of attitude and there is usually a fight when he gets home.  I hate it but I can't stop it.  I'm shiity wife.

  • I skipped my grandmother's viewing to go out with friends because the boy I liked would be there. My parents let me make the decision and I made the wrong one. I was 14 and feel so bad about it to this day.
  • I used to be a bad a$$. I started drinking in the 8th grade had two tats and a nose piercing by 18.

Now I am straighter than a level, I don't drink at all and live  a pretty boring but comfy life.

I skipped my grandmother's viewing to go to Ben & Jerrys.  My Uncles wife took me and my brother becuase we barely knew the woman and felt strange being there.  It makes me sad.

  • I was a local band groupie and pretty much stalked my drummer husband one whole summer.

  • I grew up with crazy parents in a religious group I like to refer to as "the cult." All the way up until I met DH, I had never had an original thought, opinion, or action, because I didn't know I had the freedom or power to do so. I thought all women were baby-making machines whose duty in life was to cook, clean, put out whenever told/forced to, and give up all hopes and dreams for their own futures in order to make their husbands look good to all of their friends.

Heh. I bet he regrets showing me otherwise...now I never shutup!

  • This is for the people who live in MN: I have done it on the cherry and the spoon sculpture in Minneapolis.

For everyone else:  I love listening to Elvis music in the car.  I turn it up really loud and sing to it.

Yep, and then his band members called me "Yoko Ono" when he quit the band, got married and got a job at a bank.

  • I always chased every guy I wanted to date until I got him. I broke up with my dh 2 times before we got married and treated him like crap. I chased him until I got him back for the 3rd time and decided to keep him ;) I am an exremely jealous wife and hate girls in Hollywood because their hotter than me. (dumb I know but I can't help it lol)
  • I like my family ok, but I would seriosuly be fine if DH and I moved out of the country and never saw any of them again.
  • I constantly got in punching fights in grade school.  With boys.

Ooh, me too! My parents belong to a crazy church where I went until I got married (had to go because they made me). They were big on speaking in tongues and once they would not stop praying for me until I spoke in tongues. I finally ended up faking it. A guy at the church also once "prophesied" over me and said God knew I was looking for the man I was going to marry but I wasn't going to find him for a few more years. This "prophesy" took place two days after DH asked me to marry him.

haha, long story, but a crazy version of baptist. They operate more like Amish or the crazy other weird offshoots of Mormon(not sure the actual name of the cult version, hope I don't offend any mormons on here)

I can be like this too.  Although slowly but surely I am getting better.

I guess mine would be that because I didn't want to settle down when I first met dh I put him through hell and back while I partied and sowed my wild oats so to speak.  Luckily for me he stuck around and waited for me.

  • I got married at 19 (so close to 20).

To the guy I dated since age 15.

And we had kids when I was 22 (almost 23).

If you go by statistics we should be divorced in approximately 2.7 years.

...Oh and DH was 18 when we started dating.  Yeah a 15 year old and an 18 year old.  My folks were so happy about that.  ;)

Like the crazy ones that those girls were taken from?  They are called.....man I can't think of it!!!  But they had some crazy leader who said he was their prophet and they all dressed like Little House on the Praire?

  • I used to own an online sex toy and lingerie store.  We also did home parties, like tupperware parties but with toys.

For years we operated a booth at these huge monthly swinger parties in a hotel.  I never got into the swinger thing but I saw a lot of that lifestyle while selling.

Yeah thats what I was getting at. Mine wasn't that bad, but I understood all the emotional guilt those kids went through. Its hard when people shatter your entire upbringing with normal "outside" life. My heart went out to all of them, as the natural safe response is to go back to what you know, even if its the worst thing for you.

  • I'll play.

I was a virgin when I got married.

  • I lived out of my car and Motel 8s for a period of time.
  • I wanna play!

When I was in high school, I was one of those kids with sharpie colored nails, multiple ear piercings, and combat boots going to midnight showings of Rocky Horror, etc. Now I'm in seminary.

Also, DH and I stopped TTA about 2 months ago after I got the PCOS diagnosis, even though we weren't planning on TTC until next August due to my being in grad school.

I kinda wish that was me.  Right before DH i dated this awful boy who was way more 'experienced' than me...i felt like i had to do things with him to keep him interested.  I didn't sleep with him, but i did a lot more than i should have and i still regret it to this day...7 years later
