Great camera I definitely recommend the 50mm f/1.8 lens. It's my primary lens. I think you can get it for under $100. When I bought mine it was $70. Every photographer should have it. And IMO, you should always have a lens that has an f/stop of at least f/2 (better for low light and those nice blurry backgrounds).
My family thinks I am crazy for wanting it! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that wants a good camera!
Why would they think you are crazy. DSLR cameras are just as much for beginners as they are for pros. They have auto functions too. They'll soon be jealous when you show them the photos you are taking.
