Another q about sleep sacks...

Do  u plan to use one during the winter for LO's PJs?  I'm debating...I mean, we keep our house fairly warm--I'd almost rather her be a little too cool than to be too warm.  SIDS is correlated w/being overheated...or so I have read.  It's just the only sleep sacks I have seen seem to be extremely heavy and I would think they might be a little much.  WDYT?

  • We use cotton footsie pjs and a cotton sleeveless sleep sack.  In the summer we just used a onesie undernearth but now her toes get cold if we don't have the footsie pjs on.

i do this too with DS, but keep a fan on low to keep air circulating.

  • I just use a long sleeved onesie and the sleepsack.  A fleeces one if it is really cold and cotton on other nights.

  • Where do you get the cotton sleep sacks?  At Target, they only had fleece ones.

  • DS can't stand to have his arms enclosed, even loosely. He likes to be able to throw them over his head, which he can't do in a sleep sack. So we put him in a long-sleeved onesie with pants and socks or a footed PJ and tuck a blanket tightly around his waist so he can't pull it up near his face. Once it gets a bit colder (it's pretty chilly here right now) we'll probably use a thicker blanket, we're using swaddling blankets now.?

I am confused. Sleep sacks have arm holes so they can put their arms over their heads. This is the only way my DD sleeps. It looks like she is calling a field goal. We keep her in cotton footed pjs and a fleece sleep sack. I can have the house set at 72 and her room will still be cold. If I go any warmer I will pass out. I used to keep the heat at 62 before she was born so it is a big adjustment for me. When I change diapers in the middle of the night I check her tummy and it is never hot, rather most times closer to the cooler side. Halo makes sleep sacks in cotton or fleece and you can get them at Babies R Us. Baby steals had muslin sleep sacks on special today. They are really thin.?

  • Target also sells the muslin Aden & Anais sleepsacks for $19.99.
